Thaïs Moray grew up in Midwestern lands sculpted by lakes, rivers, creeks, and wetlands. Much of her childhood was spent at her immigrant grandparents’ business where people displaced by war, trauma, or the challenges of life gathered for companionship. Thaïs has always loved stories, ancient and new, hearing them as pieces of the greater mosaic of life’s mysteries. Communication arts have been the focus of her professional adult years. She lives in Colorado surrounded by family and mountains.
As far back as I can remember, I knew that I had been here before - here, on Earth, as a human. I understood that I was passing through, that this wasn't "home" but that I dearly loved this world. As I grew older, I found that my concept of reincarnation is shared by many others. In our Western, logic-driven culture, we don't typically discuss such ideas. But when we do, it is exciting!
As a young reader, I found that I wanted to follow characters into other lives beyond the life I was reading about - what might they have been before? What might they become at a later time? How would they interact with other characters who have also incarnated again? And I discovered that in all the stories and unfinished novels I have written over decades, it would be easy to find threads that connect my various tales through characters that have incarnated over and over. And thus the Chronicles of Botahm were born, an epic reincarnation fantasy.
